Mónica
Mónica (aka La Hija de Lilith) is a bilingual (English and Spanish), Chicana, queer, neurospicy witch and is Head Bruja of La Cueva. Born and raised near unceded Duwamish territory, her family ancestry comes from Mexico, specifically in the Sierra Madre mountain region of Michoacán.
Mónica/Lilith is a tarot reader, astrologer, and palm reader. She has been reading tarot for 18 years, practicing astrology and reading palms for 20 years. She is a law school graduate, and respected community leader in the Latine community, with a background in advocacy, which deeply informs her understanding of intersectionality and webs of systems.
Growing up in a devoutly Catholic family, she has deeply experienced and understands religious trauma, calling her to fiercely commit to empowering all outcasts and marginalized peoples and create a welcoming space and hub for all those who feel othered.
Guided by her ancestors and Mexican heritage, she is also a devotee of Dark Goddesses such as Lilith, Santa Muerte, Coatlicue, and Hecate. Her readings combine guided imagery, empowering the individual’s sovereignty. She always strives to create a calm, warm space that feels like home when you get a reading from her.
Outside of brujeria (witchcraft), she is also an actor (mainly in the horror genre), cat mother to Frida, visual artist, teaching artist, and colorist for indie horror/drama comic The Leather of the Whip. Dragon is a queer, trans non-binary, neuro-spicy, leftist, animist witch whose family has lived on unceeded Duwamish Land for five generations.
Dragon is an Oracle Card Reader, Energy Weaving Practitioner, Enchanted Jewelry maker & creator of Olfactory Invocations aka Witchy AF Natural Perfumes. They are also a person of Celtic, Nordic, Germanic & Slavic ancestry and they spend their time researching the folklore and traditional magical practices of these peoples.
Dragon endeavors to weave these ancestral threads together into their personal spiritual practice, which informs the creation of their ritual jewelry and natural perfumes. They create these adornments and scent potions with the overall intent of honoring the Subtle Realms, defending Wild Nature and decomposing systems of oppression.
Dragon has worked extensively with Betsy Bergstrom, completing professional training in Curse Unraveling, Compassionate Deposession and two separate 9 month intensive courses in traditional Norse Seiðr practices.
Dragon holds professional certifications in Crystal Healing, Distance Healing, Crystal Channeling, Crystal Mediumship, and Advanced Etheric Practices through the Crystalline Academy taught by Krista M. Mitchell.
They have completed Prima, Segunda, and Tertia intensive workshops in european medieval laboratory alchemy techniques at the Spagyricus School for Practical Alchemy taught by Robert Bartlett.
